Accelerated intestinal transit may occur; do not use as long-term treatment. May cause constipation; intestinal blockage at high doses. Patients on low-P diet. Contains methylparaben & propylparaben which may cause allergic reactions. Avoid use w/ tetracycline. Diabetic patients on a reduced-calorie diet. Avoid prolonged use in patients w/ severe forms of kidney failure. Pregnancy & lactation. Oral susp: Do not take >80 mL in a 24-hr period or max dose for >2 wk.
